Snake in the Grass

Indoor game that challenges observation skills.

• Set Up

  • Open space with boundaries

• Equipment

  • No Equipment

• Objective

  The object of the game is to avoid the snakes in the grass!

• Directions

  1. Players spread out in the space.

  2. Designate 1-2 players as snakes. They lay on their stomachs and try to tag other players by slithering around like snakes.

  3. If a player is tagged, they become a snake.

  4. Continue until all players have been tagged.

• Variations

  • Add an objective like gathering all of the balls or flags in the space as they try to avoid the snakes

  • If someone is tagged by a snake they become a snake

• Coaching Points

  • Indicate that players should not jump over snakes for safety

  • Encourage snakes to slither
