Upside Down Charades

A group game of guessing.

• Set Up

  • Have the group face the guesser

  • You can use a projector to project words behind the guesser

• Equipment

  • Projector/Slides or large pieces of paper with clues

• Objective

  TThe object of the game is for players to act out a sport or fitness activity and have their team guess.

• Directions

  1. Create Charades Cards with a variety of different physical activities listed on each and put them in a bucket or container. Examples might be: riding a bike, walking the dog, playing soccer, doing jumping jacks, climbing steps, stretching, swimming, doing yoga, etc.

  2. One player will take the stack of cards and hold it up to their forehead, so that the group can see it but they cannot.

  3. The rest of the players, without speaking, act out the action on the card.

  4. The player with the cards tries to guess the action.

  5. With a correct answer, move on to the next card or change the leader.

• Variations

  ● Divide into teams and see which team can get the most cards in a minute!

   ● For younger students it might be best to remove the competitive element or the time  limit.  

  ● To increase involvement with younger players, once they guess the activity then they  should all act it out together.

• Coaching Points

  • Act out clues along with kids to help if they get stuck

  • Encourage big movements around the room
