Hula Hoop Race

Team relay race.

• Set Up

  • Open space to play

• Equipment

  • 2 Hula Hoops

• Objective

  The goal of the game is to be the team who passes a hula hoop across their circle the fastest.

• Directions

  1. Divide the group into two or more teams. 

  2. Have players form a circle and hold hands. 

  3. Explain that the goal of the game is to get the hula-hoop all the way around the circle without anyone letting go of their teammate’s hands before the other team.

• Variations

   There can be more than one hula hoop moving around the circle at a time.

• Coaching Points

  • Narrate the race so the teams knows how fast their competition are going

  • Pause to give time for strategizing
