Zombie

Tag game with a twist.

• Set Up

  • Open space with clear boundary

• Equipment

  • No equipment

• Objective

  When you are tagged in this game, you become a zombie and join the team of taggers. Eventually, everyone will become a zombie and the game can start over.

• Directions

  1. The game begins with 1-2 players as “it.” They must do a convincing zombie act as they run around tagging people. 

  2. When players are tagged, they become zombies as well. The zombie hoard grows (and must maintain convincing zombie acts!) until there are only a few “humans” remaining. 

  3. The winners are the last players to get tagged and start the next game as zombies themselves. 

• Variations

  • Zombies may have a disadvantage and move more slowly (jog only, or walk). This will encourage zombies to work together to tag players.

  • Set a boundary and if anyone steps out they become a zombie

    In a Gym? Try this variation using the gym lines

• Coaching Points

  • Give the "zombies" handicaps like having to walk with arms out or walking with a limp

  • Encourage players to have fun acting
