Passing Zones
Players practice passing and creating space on the field by moving through zones.
- 
      
        
          
        
      
      - Split the field into 3 equal-sized horizontal zones. 
- Have players spread out in the 3 zones, and give a ball to about ⅓ of the players in different zones. 
 
- 
      
        
      
      - Balls

      Goal is for players to be moving the entire game and to practice 1 and 2 touch passes. 
- 
      
        
      
      - Players can only run into a different zone if they do not have a ball. 
- Players who are dribbling a ball should pass after 1 or 2 touches. 
 
- 
      
        
      
      - Players have to pass to a player in a different zone 
 
- 
      
        
      
      - Players should be aware of the space they need to trap the ball. 
- Encourage players to move off the ball and make decisions. 
- Recognize players who call their teammates names when passing.
