Self-Management & Dribbling 2.0

Objectives:

  • SEL:  Players will be able to set a short-term goal and make a plan for achieving it; identify & describe why one achieved or did not achieve a goal.

  • SOCCER: Players will be able to demonstrate an understanding of when and where to dribble/run with the ball.

Day 1:

10 min- Informal Time: Attendance, Warm Welcome

15 min- Warm Up: Foxtails

5 min- Soccer Focus Intro: Dribbling Skill: Small Touches

15 min- Dribbling- Unopposed: 1,2,3 Come to Me

15 min- Dribbling- Opposed: Knock Out

25 min- Scrimmage

5 min- Soccer Focus Intro: Dribbling Skill: Big Touches

15 min- Dribbling- Unopposed: Tick Tock on the Clock

15 min- Dribbling- Opposed: Tick Tock on the Clock with Defenders

25 min- Scrimmage

Fall Season:

  • Partner with a player you don't know well and work together to improve skills.

Spring Season:

  • Choose a Warm Up to run for the team.

  • Run the Warm Up giving clear instructions.
