Give and Go Goal with Defender

Players complete a give and go and shoot on the goal.

• Set Up

  • Split players into 2 lines

  • Mark out a clear beginning and end line

  • Select 1 volunteer to defend

• Equipment

  • 1 Ball

  • Disc cones

• Objective

  Objective of the game is for Player A and Player B to score without the Defender stealing their ball.

• Directions

  1. Player A passes it to player B.

  2. Player A completes the give-and-go and runs behind the defender.

  3. Player B passes the ball to player A who tries to score.

  4. Players go to the opposite line.

  5. After about 1 minute take a volunteer to switch out the defender.

• Variations

  • Add in more defenders if needed

• Coaching Points

  • Remind players about short and long passes

  • Players should find the open spot at the right distance away from their partner
